Books
- Make Your Own Electric Guitar M. Hiscock,
ISBN 0-95311049-0-7 Explains guitar construction by going
through three very different designs. This is the book to start out
with if you consider building a guitar.
- Building Electric Guitars M Koch, ISBN
3-901314-07-5 A few more technical details and many
illustrations. Good supplement to the book above.
- Understanding Wood Finishing B. Flexner, ISBN
0-7621-0191-1 Despite the subject, this book is a joy to
read. It explains the difference between the finishing options, and
how to apply the finishing in practise. It also rejects a large number
of myths related to finishing. A textbook example on how to write,
well, a textbook ;-)

only thing they do not do is set necks, and you have to
assemble/adjust yourself.
